Become an Event Organiser!
-we are a comparitively small organisation and depend on functions and events as a source of funding. Do you think you could organise an event and raise money to help? If you have an idea and a bit of spare time, you could make a big difference by getting involved and helping us turn all of the research and development, already undertaken, into a tangible vaccine that will cure cancer once and for all.
So, who can become an Event Organiser?
Anybody is the short answer. You don't require any specific qualifications, any special knowledge or skills. We're looking for someone (an adult), who is responsible, who can organise situations and people, and who can get people motivated and involved. Typically, you would be a fun person with lots of 'get up and go' and of course, be committed to raising money to fund cancer vaccine research.
Tips and a bit of advice
Our first tip would be to get others involved. This may be to share the load or simply for a bit of support - remember, this is supposed to be fun, so share the experience. Others WILL let you down - expect this and plan for it ... that way, you'll be able to carry on and get the job done. Another tip would be, when it comes to deciding what type of event to organise - pick something that you enjoy doing or have a passion for. It makes things so much more enjoyable. And finally, give yourself plenty of time. People have busy lives and schedules and generally need a bit of notice. The more people you can get to attend, the better time you'll have!
