We are always looking for dedicated people to join us in our fight to eliminate cancer, so if you have a bit of spare time and would like to help – why not become one of our Volunteers today! A few of the most common questions that we are asked about becoming a Volunteer are answered below, but, if you need further information – simply give us a call and we would be happy to chat with you.

Who can become a Volunteer?

Anybody can become a Volunteer is the short answer. What we need are people who don’t mind ‘mucking in’ or ‘rolling their sleeves up’. We have found that in most cases, ‘many hands DO  make light work’ and the more people sharing the load, the quicker the job gets done and more often than not – it gets done a lot more efficiently too. Our only stipulation is that you are an adult and of sound mind haha.

What will I typically be doing?

Well, you could be organising, you could be gathering information or using a skill that you have. You could be advising, you could be making cakes or walking up and down mountains. There are a million and one ways in which you can help. We will talk with you and find out what you are good at, and together we’ll decide how you can help. We will never require you to do anything that you are uncomfortable with and you will always have the option of saying ‘no thank you’.

How often will I be needed?

This really depends on what we have going on and who is available. Although you are signing up to become a Volunteer, we acknowledge that you also have a life and may not be available. We will ask and you will let us know if you can or can’t make it – how does that sound?

How do I sign up?

Signing up to become a Volunteer couldn’t be much easier. Simply register an account on our site and head to your profile page. Here, you can add a bit of information about yourself and even upload an account photo if you want to (not mandatory). You will find an icon that looks like a ‘cog’ and by clicking it, you will be able to edit your profile … and change your account type to ‘Volunteer’. That’s it, you’ve now let us know that you are willing to help!
